Hosted by the Philipsburg Ice Association, the inaugural P-Burg Outdoor Spiel was held in 2023 and is back in 2024! Bonspiel - commonly known as curling - rose in popularity in the U.S. during the 2022 Winter Olympics. Ahead of last year’s event in Philipsburg, an astounding 16 teams bought up spots in the first four minutes of the event’s registration opening. This year promises to be even more popular as the community turns out to watch 20 teams compete at the only outdoor bonspiel event in Montana. Come on down to the Winninghoff Park Ice Rink to sip beer by the outdoor fires while watching our competitors - and even give the sport a go yourself during one of the free learn-to-curl sessions.
